When God gave the name “Lakewin” to Pastor Riley, he was instructed to return to Central Florida, which included Lakeland and Winter Haven, and minister the Word of God to the people in that area where he formerly resided.
In 1994, Pastor Riley graduated from World Changers School of Ministry. In 1996, Pastor Riley established Lakewin Incorporated as an outreach ministry. On January 18, 1997, he held a “Crusade for Christ” in Lakeland Florida. Pastor Greg Powe, Pastor Riley long time best friend, and Revealing Truth Ministries of Tampa Florida was instrumental in the success of that crusade!
In March of 1999, God gave Pastor Riley the vision for Lakewin Christian Center. Dr. Creflo Dollar licensed him to minister the Word of God shortly thereafter. On May 2, 1999, Pastor Riley held the first service for Lakewin Christian Center at Paradise Lake Conference Center in Riverdale Georgia. Thirty six people joined the church that day! His longtime friend, Commissioner Bill Edwards of the Fulton County Board of Commissioners, was present and assembled a team of men to usher for Lakewin until we developed our own Usher Ministry!
On the first Sunday in January in the year 2000, the ministry relocated to our present home at 6449 Church Street. For the past several years, Elder Eldrin Bell, a friend of Pastor Riley’s and former longtime Chairmen of the Clayton County Board of Commissioners, has ministered the Word of God to our church family on the first Sunday of every year!
Lakewin Christian Center now has several auxiliary ministries, includes Youth Programs which consist of our “Children’s Church” for ages 1 – 12, currently directed by Minister Zandra Hall, the “Princess of Purity” for girls ages 9 to 19, Founded and directed by Minister Canessa Johnson and the “Men of God” for boys ages 9 to 19, founded and directed by Minister Mark Hall. Their goal is to equip young people in our church and in the community, with spiritual, morals, education and career oriented skills necessary for success in life. They aim is to instill in our youth the importance of striving for excellence in the mind, body and spirit.
Pastor Kay Riley, the wife of Pastor Harry also birthed the “Women of Distinction” ministry. This ministry teaches women of all ages how to find their pre-determined path to success in life by pursuing the will of God for their lives.
Also, Pastor Riley strongly believes if he can get a group of people to unite and come together for a common goal, they can extend that unity to the Pastors of the community. Then the Pastors can bring the churches in the community together. The churches are a symbol of strength in a community that can ultimately bring the cities of Clayton County and surrounding areas of Metro Atlanta together to win souls for the kingdom and effect a lasting change in the lives of the people!
Pastor Riley serves as a Chaplin for the Riverdale Police Department. He also serves within many ministerial organizations around Clayton County and other surrounding areas. Pastors Harry and Kay are very active participants in events held within Clayton County and are well respected by all whom are acquainted with them!
On Saturday, May 4, 2013, history was made at Lakewin Christian Center as Pastor Riley “Licensed” ten and “Collared” eleven ministers of the gospel! Minister Derek Griffin was named chairman of the Board of Ministers which includes Ministers Antoinette Leslie, Canessa Johnson, George James, Jean Mathis, Mark Hall, Monique Oworu, Nathaniel Hackett, Raymond & Sherryle Puryear and Virginia Martin.
God is pouring out his anointing each week through Pastors Harry and Kay Riley and their ministerial staff’s teachings of the Word of God. The ministry thrives as the vision to win souls to Christ through displaying the love of God continually manifest!
Pastors Harry and Kay Riley seek God each day for the wisdom to perfect every area of ministry here at Lakewin Christian Center. They thank God for the every leader and family members of Lakewin Christian Center, who have been faithful to the vision God has entrusted to them.
